Matt is no stranger to Michiana -- growing up in Warsaw, which is in Kosciusko county. He joined the WSBT weather team in June of 2012, but has been a weather fanatic since he was a little kid. He says, “I decided to make my passion my career!”
Matt is a Meteorologist with a Bachelors Degree in Atmospheric Science from Purdue University. He comes to us from WSIL-TV in Carterville, Illinois. While at WSIL, he was a staff meteorologist and multi-platform journalist. During college, he interned here at WSBT as well as WLFI-TV in West Lafayette. Matt also interned for the National Weather Service.
While at Purdue, Matt was a member of the Purdue “All-American” Marching Band. During that time he traveled with the band to Beijing, China for the Winter Olympics and to New York for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Matt has been nominated as best weathercaster by the Illinois Associated Press. He is also a member of the American Meteorological Society and holds the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist certification, the highest distinction given to a broadcast meteorologist.
