7. 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' on DVD and Blu-ray

Director David Fincher had much to overcome with this film: A Swedish-language film adaptation already existed (and it's good), the beyond-dark subject matter (anal rape!) and an untested leading lady in Rooney Mara. But this works on so many levels: from the bleak cinematography to the acting (especially Mara and Daniel Craig). We're ready for the sequel, Mr. Fincher. Out now.
