Press conference

Surrounded by local officials, Dr. Joshua Sharfstein, Secretary of the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, speaks at a press conference announcing the start of free family planning services to low income women. The program is possible because of the Family Planning Works Act, which was passed by the Maryland legislature in 2011. Nearly 35,000 low income women will be eligible for services starting on January 1 of 2012.
