2001: Pentagon attacked

On <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="EVHST000001" title="September 11, 2001 Attacks" href="/topic/unrest-conflicts-war/terrorism/september-11-2001-attacks-EVHST000001.topic">September 11, 2001</a> firefighters were still battling flames when Sun staff photographer <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PECLB005262" title="Amy Davis" href="/topic/entertainment/amy-davis-PECLB005262.topic">Amy Davis</a> showed up on the scene of <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PLCUL00216" title="The Pentagon" href="/topic/unrest-conflicts-war/defense/the-pentagon-PLCUL00216.topic">the Pentagon</a> after a terrorists flew a commercial airliner into the building. Smoke could be seen for miles and a large gash could be seen where the plane had hit the west wall of the building.

On September 11, 2001 firefighters were still battling flames when Sun staff photographer Amy Davis showed up on the scene of the Pentagon after a terrorists flew a commercial airliner into the building. Smoke could be seen for miles and a large gash could be seen where the plane had hit the west wall of the building.
