News item: Popular and outspoken Orioles outfielder/DH Luke Scott has signed a one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Rays.

<b>Schmuck's take:</b> Hard to argue with the Orioles' decision to release him and avoid salary arbitration, since Luke is coming off major shoulder surgery and made $6.4 million last year, but the Orioles really need to be adding power instead of subtracting it. <b>Bonus take:</b> They also need to be adding some quotable players until I bone up on my Pacific Rim language skills.
