MILLERSBURG, Ind. (AP) — An Elkhart County RV plant where about 200 workers built recreational vehicles until it shut down last year is up for sale.
The 55-acre site of the former Carriage Inc. facility in the town of Millersburg includes 19 buildings. The Elkhart Truth reports (http://bit.ly/R253NC ) that Key Auctioneers of Indianapolis is marketing the property for possible manufacturing, engineering and distribution uses.
Carriage ended production abruptly last year after being unable to reach an agreement with a lender. The company built high-end fifth wheel trailers.
The company's assets were auctioned off in February, with Thor Industries' Redwood RV buying the Carriage name and brands.
