GOSHEN, Ind. (AP) — The publisher of the Washington Times-Herald for the past 11 years will succeed Jim Kroemer as publisher of The Goshen News.

The Goshen News reports (http://bit.ly/stt8yd ) that Ron Smith will take over at the northern Indiana newspaper on Sunday, a day after Kroemer retires.

Smith grew up in Rockville and started his newspaper career as a circulation department district manager of the Tribune-Star in Terre Haute and later became circulation director. He took the same position with the Commercial-News in Danville, Ill., where he served until being named publisher of the Times-Herald.

Kroemer had been publisher of the northern Indiana newspaper since 2007. He began his career at The News-Sun of Kendallville in 1968.

The Goshen News and the Washington Times-Herald are owned by Community Newspaper Holdings Inc.
