MIRAMAR, Fla. (AP) — The only U.S. airline that charges for carry-on luggage is creating a new fee.
Beginning Nov. 1, Spirit Airlines says it will charge $5 if a gate agent has to print out your boarding pass. Passengers can avoid that by printing the boarding pass at home, or by using a check-in kiosk at the airport.
But beginning next June, even printing out at a kiosk will cost $1.
Spirit is a small airline that flies mostly out of East Coast cities through Florida and on to the Caribbean. Spirit also announced that besides the boarding pass fee, it's lowering fares by $5 each way.
