Indianapolis—House Democrats remain at an Urbana, Illinois hotel as the Statehouse stalemate enters its third week. Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels (R) says the Republican House Speaker is trying to be patient, and so is he but he says this type of behavior should not be condoned.
"Why do we hold elections if people are not going to respect what the voters say? why do you run for office and pocket the money and run to another state and refuse to do your duty. I'm embarrassed for the people doing it, it's beginning to be embarrassing really for the whole state and I just hope that somebody's conscience will start speaking to them," said Gov. Daniels.
Daniels also added that House Minority Leader Pat Bauer isn't a person that Hoosiers can trust. He said the legislative session will continue because Republicans won't submit to bullying tactics.
