More rain and water restrictions in Central Indiana are bringing some relief to the water system.
Citizens Water said usage fell another 9 million gallons to 144 million gallons per day. That’s 58 million per day less than the usage before mandatory water restrictions went into place a week ago.
Rain has boosted water levels at reservoirs. The area around Morse and Geist reservoirs received more than an inch of rain Thursday. Morse gained three-tenths of a foot and Geist levels also rose slightly. Citizens Water has stopped withdrawals from Morse, releasing only a small amount from the reservoir to maintain flow in Cicero Creek.
