Thirty-three Indy Cars have been painted for the Super Bowl and are on display on Meridian Street just off Monument Circle. Each car represents a different NFL team, and the final car is dedicated to the Super Bowl itself.

"It's unreal. I can't believe they did all of this," said Jay Shellabarger, a football fan.

"We're in from Columbus, Ohio, and this is really neat," said Jim Wright, another fan.

"I took pictures of all of them. Yes, I'm a diehard pro football fan," said Vicky Rhodes.

Most of the football fans became amateur photographers Friday afternoon as friends and family posed for pictures. Plenty of people had a favorite car that also happened to be their favorite team.

"I'm a Tennessee Titan fan so I'm going to go check that one out. I'm sure that's the best one," said Nathan Berger.

"Of course the Colts. I am rooting for... not the Patriots," said another fan.

There is also a history lesson within the display for football fans young and old, according to one of the men who is somewhat guarding the cars.

"When you look at these cars, you'll see numbers on the wings and on the nose, the number is the year that these teams came into the NFL,"
said  Don Kay.

The cars will be on display downtown until Sunday night. They will become part of a media party on Tuesday, and within 24 hours, they will be relocated to Super Celebration Sites across Central Indiana and placed in popular spots in the Indianapolis area.
