( Chicago Tribune historical photo ) Child actor Jackie Cooper cuts the ribbon just before the departure of the Broadway Limited on its initial eighteen-hour run from Chicago to New York, April 25, 1932. Cooper had a successful acting career until retirement in 1989. Cooper also compiled one of the most distinguished peacetime military careers of anyone in his profession. In his industry, only James Stewart held a higher uniform rank in the U.S. Military. |
