Whose idea was that? <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="ORSPT00000235" title="Nebraska Cornhuskers" href="/topic/sports/college-sports/nebraska-cornhuskers-ORSPT00000235.topic">Nebraska</a> was a "home run" addition for the Big Ten, Commissioner Jim Delany crowed in 2010. And he was right. By that analogy, adding <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="ORSPT000188" title="Maryland Terrapins" href="/topic/sports/college-sports/maryland-terrapins-ORSPT000188.topic">Maryland</a> and Rutgers was a bunt single. Rutgers at least has potential to be an East Coast behemoth, but Maryland is a financial loser with a football team that hasn't been nationally relevant since the 1950s.
