Opportunities in higher education at the Somerset County Campus of Allegany College of Maryland will be highlighted Thursday, when the local college conducts an open house. This 16th annual event, from 5 to 7 p.m., provides an overview of the community college and what it offers to help students achieve their academic goals. Valuable scholarships totaling $1,500 will be presented by random drawing, and prospective ACM-Somerset County students have the chance to win. College faculty and staff members assisted by students, are planning the upcoming open house, which includes workforce development and continuing education as well as credit offerings in degree, certificate and letter-of-recognition programs.
