Herlie died on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008 in New York of complications from pneumonia at the age of 90. She joined the cast of "All My Children" in 1976 and for more than three decades played the role of Myrtle Fargate, who became a second mother to Erica Kane, played by Susan Lucci, as well as to all the citizens of Pine Valley, offering her love, advice and wisdom.
