EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) — Evansville police arrested a 21-year-old man who fell asleep behind the wheel at a busy intersection in front of a squad car.

A police car pulled up behind the car being driven by Steven B. Clarke as it was stopped for a red light near downtown Evansville early Tuesday.

When the light turned green and the car failed to move, the officer honked the horn and put a spotlight on the vehicle. When the car failed to move, officers approached on foot and smelled the odor of marijuana coming from it. They reported finding a bag of marijuana in Clarke's pocket.

Clark was being held Wednesday at the Vanderburgh County Jail.

The police affidavit says Clarke told officers he is from Jamaica and smokes a lot of marijuana.
