HIGHLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — Trouble is brewing for a 19-year-old who police say stole beer from a garage and walked into the sleeping residents' bedroom, a can in each hand.

Oakland County sheriff's deputies responded to a breaking and entering call about 1 a.m. Wednesday at the home in Highland Township, 35 miles northwest of Detroit. The homeowner said he awoke and found the suspect standing next to the bed with the Busch Lite beer.

Deputies say the homeowner escorted the Grand Blanc man out of the house but he returned, pounded on windows and tried to start both cars in the garage. The homeowner pushed the man out the door as deputies arrived, and they arrested him without further incident.

The Detroit News says the homeowners had no idea who the man was.
