TROY, Mich. (AP) — Police say a 92-year-old suburban Detroit man died after a raccoon got stuck in his home's flue pipe from the furnace to the chimney.

Police say Frederick W. Braga of Troy was found dead Monday, apparently overcome by smoke and possible carbon monoxide poisoning.

Lt. Michael Lyczkowski tells the Detroit Free Press that Braga was found in the basement, where the furnace was located. There was a strong odor in the house and the raccoon was found dead in the vent pipe.
