NORFOLK, Mass. (AP) — An animal welfare official in a Massachusetts town wants to know who apparently abandoned two goats in a local industrial park.

Norfolk Animal Control Officer Hilary Cohen posted fliers around town on Wednesday offering a $300 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who dumped the female goats, which were first spotted Monday in the town about 20 miles southeast of Boston.

Cohen is also asking businesses in the area for surveillance video.

She tells The Sun Chronicle of Attleboro the goats were scared and a little on the thin side when she responded to a call from passers-by, but a veterinary exam found them to be in good health.

The town will keep the animals until they can be adopted.
