KOKOMO, Ind. (AP) — Kokomo will be overrun by zombies next month as an independent film begins filming in the north central Indiana city.

The zombie movie "Countyline" will feature 2003 Rochester High School graduate Markus Johnson as one of a group of teenagers trying to escape the spread of a virus.

Filming will begin in April, and most of it will take place in Kokomo. The production crew has already hired more than 400 area residents as zombie extras.

The Rochester Sentinel reports the movie is scheduled to debut in October at local venues and several screening locations across the Midwest and East Coast.

Johnson says casting for the movie is finished but if people are interested in getting involved they can visit the film's website at countylinethemovie.com.
