The Real French Toast

Ingredients

  • Half of a slightly stale French baguette
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons
  • Caribbean Rum (optional but recommended)
  • 2 teaspoons butter

Instructions

Cut the baguette into 1 inch slices. Heat a large frying pan on medium high heat. Mix milk, eggs, sugar and rum in a bowl and beat with a whisk for just 30 seconds. Place the slices into the mixture for 5 to 10 seconds to moisten. Sprinkle each side of slices with a little sugar. They will get a nice golden brownish color while cooking. Cook for 10 minutes turning the bread every other minute. Serve immediately and enjoy when still warm. Bon appétit!
