Indiana Drug Card, a new, statewide prescription cost help program, is offered free to all Hoosiers with no restrictions on income or age.

Hoosiers can download their free card from www.indianadrugcard.com

For those without Web access, CVS/pharmacy locations across the state also have the cards available.

Indiana Drug Card was started to help uninsured and underinsured residents — and those with Medicare Part D plans — to better afford prescription drugs.

The program’s funded by pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies. The Indiana Association of Cities and Towns is working to publicize the program.

Average savings are between 30 and 75 percent, according to a news release from Doug Simms, program development director.

The card is accepted at more than 50,000 pharmacies across the United States.
