GOSHEN--A Goshen business remains open on Sundays to help the unemployed. Last year at this time, Premier Rentals started opening its doors every Sunday, allowing people to use its computers to file for Indiana unemployment online.

Since the business began doing it, there’s been a steady flow of people — and many told WSBT it’s a convenient service.

“We have a good change, a good turnover of people,” said David Lane of Premier.

“You know, I am hearing of people going back to work, but yet on the same token, for everyone that doesn’t come back in because they’ve gone back to work, I’ve got somebody else coming in who was just recently laid off.”

That includes Gordon Chupp, who was there to use one of the computers.

“Till things pick up, this really helps a lot of people in Goshen, to say the least,” Chupp said.

Store owners say while it looks like the economy is slowly turning around, Premier plans to remain open indefinitely on Sundays until the need to file for benefits is no longer there.
