Gov. Mitch Daniels will be in Wakarusa on Thursday for an economic development announcement.

A “significant” amount of jobs will be announced, said Blair West, spokeswoman for the Indiana Department of Economic Development. West declined to release any other details, other than saying a partnership between companies will be discussed.

Daniels will join company executives and officials from Elkhart County at 9:30 a.m. at the former DeMartini Building, 905 Nelsons Parkway, according to a news release.

Elkhart County Commissioner Mike Yoder believes the announcement is related to hybrid engines for both the RV industry and possibly for larger trucks.

The DeMartini Building used to be an RV dealership and showroom.
