A number of calls and e-mails alerted WSBT-TV to problems with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development Web site Sunday.

Communications Director Marc Lotter said the page used to file for unemployment benefits was down from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Because of the problem, the department extended the unemployment benefit deadline an extra two hours, until 7 p.m.

If you filed after that time Sunday, you will not receive your benefits until Tuesday.

Lotter says officials are still trying to determine what happened with the site, but says the problem was not because of an increase in volume.
