FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (AP) - Thousands of people lined up at several Michigan locations with hopes of getting swine flu vaccinations.

WWJ-AM in Detroit reports the lines grew Saturday in Oakland and Wayne counties for H1N1 shot clinics. The first person in line outside Oakland Community College in Farmington Hills got there about 1 a.m.

The Lansing State Journal reports hundreds lined up for shots in the rain in Lansing, and WWMT-TV reported lines at an area health department shot clinic in the southwestern Michigan community of Lawrence.

Other Detroit-area clinics were taking place at a school in Clarkston and in Hamtramck. Immunizations through the Detroit Department of Health and Wellness Promotion also were taking place this weekend.

According to WSBT, Berrien County Health Department had 1,600 doses of the vaccination available for immunizations today. People stood in line for 2 to 3 hours to be vaccinated.

The health department estimates 935 children and 625 adults were immunized in Benton Harbor today and says they have plenty available for next week’s clinics in New Buffalo.
