LAKE ELSINORE (KTLA) A photographer accused of child molestation by his wife is behind bars Friday.
50-year-old Perry Anthony Pellegrini was arrested Thursday on suspicion of lewd acts with a child under 14, continuous sexual abuse of a minor and possessing child pornography, according to Sgt. Patrick J. Chavez of the Lake Elsinore Sheriff's Station.
Sgt. Chavez says Pellegrini's wife contacted deputies Tuesday after confronting him about his alleged molestation of a child.
Police arrived around 6:30 p.m. and found Pellegrini had attempted to cut his wrists.
Pellegrini was transported to a local hospital, where he received treatment for his wounds and a psychiatric evaluation.
Pellegrini, an "amateur photographer" with a studio in Huntington Beach, was taken into custody immediately upon his release from the hospital, according to Sgt. Chavez.
During a search of his home, investigators found digital photographs depicting minors in several states of undress, Sgt. Chavez reported.
Pellegrini was being held in lieu of $150,000 bail at the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside.
The Lake Elsinore Police Department is urging anyone with information to contact them at (951) 245-3300, or at (951) 776-1099.
