In the name of swine flu prevention and education, Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center will post tissues, hand sanitizer and surgical masks at entrances to all of its buildings in St. Joseph and Marshall counties.

Also, there will be signs with basic preventive tips.

These healthful kiosks should be up by Wednesday morning, said Mike Stack, hospital spokesman.

It’s part of a campaign called "The Flu Stops Here."

The hospital encourages people to put on the masks if they start to feel ill, as a way to protect people around them, he said. Along with that come all of the basic precautions of avoiding the flu: cover your mouth when you cough, wash your hands with soap and water, avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth, and so on.

If you have mild flu symptoms, Stack advises, see your family physician before coming to the emergency room.

More tips will be available at www.sjmed.com or www.cdc.gov.
