Indianapolis Metro Police detectives are investigating a string of northeast side crimes.
At least a half dozen burglaries, break-ins and car thefts have taken place in several neighborhoods along Dean Road between 75th and 71st Streets over the past week.
Crimes like these are uncommon for the area and residents are being told not to panic, but to stay vigilant and in contact with each other.
Tom Berry of the Steinmeier Farms Crime Watch said working with each other and the police can make a difference.
"There's no question that a strong network of crime watch with one neighborhood and its surrounding neighborhoods really contributes to minimizing the amount of crime that will happen in that neighborhood and surrounding neighborhoods."
Even road construction crews have reported items stolen from their tool storage containers at 75th Street and Dean Road.
IMPD said the investigations are on-going and officers have increased patrols in the areas on all shifts.
If you know anything about the crimes in the Glenview Estates, Sylvan Ridge or Steinmeier Farms neighborhoods you are encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
