(WSBT) It was the scene of a massive fire that burned for days, killing one worker.

Now, four months later, part of VIM Recycling may be back in business after an agreement with Elkhart County.

The agreement will allow VIM to stockpile and grind scrap wood at the county landfill. That product is used to make animal bedding.

The company started stockpiling wood Tuesday.

However, state environmental officials still have to approve the plan before grinding can begin.

Since the fire last June, neighbors have been fighting to shut down the company at its current location.
