PLYMOUTH — Marshall County police announced that a former Plymouth man who failed to register as a sex offender has been taken into custody in Payne County, Okla.

Rellos Hernandez, 36, was determined earlier to have moved from his last registered address in Plymouth during a regular address verification visit, police said. His whereabouts were unknown, and a warrant was issued for his arrest for failure to register as a sex and violent offender.

Hernandez, also wanted by the Indiana Parole Board, was required to register as a sex offender as a result of a 1992 conviction for rape in Oklahoma, his native state.

Hernandez was arrested without incident and is being held in Oklahoma awaiting extradition back to Indiana, police said.
