Sex offender charged with Internet solicitation of a Mich. girl

TOWSON, Md. (AP) — Baltimore County police say they have arrested an Essex, Md. man for solicitation of a 14-year-old Michigan girl over the Internet.

Police arrested 34-year-old James Michael Willnecker on February 15 after they were contacted by the Fruitport police department in Michigan.

Police allege a person using the screen name "IBJIM" had been communicating with the minor from Ravenna, Michigan since December, and was making arrangements to meet to have sex when the communications were discovered by the girl's mother.

Willnecker has been charged with solicitation of a minor for pornography and sexual solicitation of a minor.

Police say Willnecker is a Maryland registered sex offender. It could not be determined Tuesday evening if he has a lawyer.
