SOUTH BEND — The airplane carrying Bill and Chelsea Clinton is scheduled to arrive at 11:15 a.m. Monday at the South Bend Regional Airport.

Airport Director John Schalliol said the former president and his daughter will arrive at the north side of the airport, near the Atlantic Aviation (formerly Corporate Wings) site.

No events are planned at the airport, Schalliol said.

The Clinton entourage is expected to get directly into cars and motorcade and leave for the West Side Democratic Club, where they will kick of a day-long series of appearances in northern Indiana.

Bill Clinton is scheduled to leave Indiana from the airport in Lafayette, Schalliol said. Chelsea Clinton will be going from South Bend to Bloomington, so she is expected to leave from the South Bend airport, he said.

South Bend Police are also preparing for the president's visit.

Roads across the city's west side are expected to be jammed Monday. Some streets including Western Avenue will likely be shut down by the Secret Service while the president's motorcade is en route to both events.

Officers will also be enforcing parking restrictions around both the Democratic Club and Elks Lodge.

Anyone parking in front of a driveway or in a fire lane will be ticketed and towed.

Clinton itinerary
Former President Bill Clinton and daughter Chelsea have a busy schedule in Indiana Monday, when they kick off a statewide Hoosiers for Hillary Heartland Tour.

Clinton and Chelsea, along with Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, are scheduled to begin their day with Dyngus Day and Solidarity Day celebrations in South Bend.

All three will attend the Dyngus Day event at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the West Side Democratic Club, 617 S. Warren St. People who buy tickets in advance will be seated first, said club president Timothy Hudak.

They move to Solidarity Day celebrations at the Elks Lodge No. 298 at 1001 Western Ave. at 12:45 p.m., an e-mail from the Clinton campaign said.

Later, Clinton will visit Rochester in a rally at the high school gym, 1 Zebra Lane, at 3:15 p.m. The event is free and no ticket is required.

He'll then appear at 5:15 p.m. in Logansport and at 7:30 in West Lafayette.
