A list of some of the people who might have been killed by Belle Gunness, who is believed to have murdered more than two dozen people a century ago:

Mads Sorensen — Gunness' first husband. Died July 30, 1900. Oscar Sorensen was suspicious about his brother's death and had the body exhumed a month later. His death certificate said he died of cerebral hemorrhage or enlarged heart.

Peter Gunness — Gunness' second husband. Died Dec. 16, 1902, after a sausage grinder and jar of hot water fell on him. His brother, Gust Gunness, believed Peter Gunness was murdered.

Andrew Hegelien — A farmer from Aberdeen, S.D., who died in 1908 after answering lonely hearts letter from Gunness. His body was found on May 5, 1908, by his brother, Asle, buried in a pit of household waste on Gunness' farm. Andi Simmons, a forensic anthropologist who is leading an investigation into what happened to Gunness, said at least 15 other men who answered Gunness' ads disappeared.

Myrtle Sorensen, 11, Lucy Sorensen, 9, and Philip Gunness, 5 — Foster children of Gunness whose bodies were found following a fire April 28, 1908.

Jennie Olsen — A foster daughter of Gunness who was missing for two years when her body was discovered buried in a pit of household waste on May 5, 1908. Her body was the second found. Gunness also had two other foster children die in her care. Caroline died at 5 months old in 1896 and Alex died as an infant in 1898. The cause of death for both was listed as colitis.

The remains of an unidentified infant, two adolescents, a woman and five men also were found buried on the Gunness farm.
