(AP) Investigators secretly put tracking devices on the vehicles of a Williamston couple several weeks after the disappearance of their 7-year-old adopted son.

Lisa and Tim Holland are charged with open murder and child abuse in the death of Ricky Holland. A hearing to decide if they’ll stand trial resumes next week.

An Ingham County sheriff’s detective testified Wednesday that authorities installed the tracking devices August first.

On September 5th, they saw that the pickup was parked for half an hour along a road, and they searched the area. Tim Holland led authorities to Ricky’s body 4½ months later, nine miles away.
