(WSBT) It's the number one killer of babies under the age of one. For nearly 50 years, researchers have tried to figure out what causes Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Below are links with more information from our NEWS22 Special Report on SIDS.

    • First Candle/SIDS Alliance: Promotes infant health and survival during the prenatal period through two years of age.
    • National SIDS/Infant Death Resource Center: Provides educational materials for national, state and local organizations and offers resources and references to increase public awareness about SIDS and related topics.
    • Neo Fight: A support group for families experiencing a perinatal crisis.
    • SIDS Network: Offers peer counseling, crisis intervention and support group meetings for those affected by a SIDS death, as well as literature, SIDS educational materials and educational programs.
