Saturday, April 29, 1989: Jeff Pelley, 17, attends LaVille High School's prom and related festivities.
Sunday, April 30, 1989: The Rev. Robert Pelley fails to show up for church service at the Olive Branch United Brethren Church. A trustee finds bodies of Pelley, 38, wife, Dawn, 32, and two children, Jolene, 6, and Janel, 8.
May 3, 1989: Funeral for the Pelley family. Survivors include Jeff, 17, Jackqueline, 14, and Jessica, 10. Jeff said he was at prom when his family was killed. Jessica and Jackie spent the night away from home.
December 17, 1993: Jeff Pelley marries Kimberly Ann Singletary in Lee County, Fla.
July 1994: Jeff Pelley convicted in Florida on two counts of wire fraud for bilking a $48,000 trust fund. He is sentenced to six months of home detention.
April 2, 1997: Jeff and Kimberly divorce.
December 17, 1999: Jeff and Kimberly remarry in Pinellas County, Fla.
April 2000: St. Joseph County Prosecutor Chris Toth announces Cold Case Unit, targets unsolved Pelley slayings, among others.

February 2006: Attorneys for Pelley argue case should be dismissed because of right to speedy trial.
May 2006: Judge denies dismissal motion.
July 6, 2006: Indiana Supreme Court rejects appeal to dismiss case.
July 21, 2006: Jury finds Pelley guilty of four counts of murder
October 17, 2006: Judge sentences Pelley to 160 years in prison (40 years for each of the four counts).
