Mother Called Ricky Holland’s Death An Accident

(AP) A former Ingham County Jail inmate testified that the mother of Ricky Holland told her the death of the adopted 7-year-old was an accident, not murder.

Krystal Pierce told jurors Monday she got to know Lisa Holland when both were inmates in April. She said the mother told her Ricky was running around the house when she threw a small hammer that struck him in the head.

Pierce said she was told Tim Holland sent his wife upstairs after arriving home because he didn’t want her involved in disposing of Ricky’s dead body.

Lisa Holland faces charges of felony murder and child abuse. Tim Holland pleaded guilty last month to second-degree murder. He’s expected to testify in his wife’s trial later this week.
