(AP) A jury in Lansing found a woman guilty Friday of first-degree murder and child abuse in the hammer slaying of her 7-year-old adopted son.

Lisa Holland showed little emotion throughout the seven-week trial but cried quietly when the verdict was read. The 33-year-old Williamston woman faces an automatic penalty of life in prison without parole when she is sentenced November 28th.

Holland's husband Tim led police to the body of his 7-year-old son, Ricky, in January and later pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. Tim Holland testified against his wife in a plea deal in which he was allowed to plead guilty to second-degree murder.
