(AP) A Williamston man who led police to the body of his 7-year-old son six months after reporting him missing, and later testified against his wife in her murder trial, has been sentenced.

Tim Holland got 30 to 60 years in prison on Wednesday. Ingham County Circuit Court Judge Paula Manderfield departed from the sentencing guidelines of a minimum of 13 1/2 to 22 1/2 years.

He cut a deal with prosecutors in September -- agreeing to plead guilty to second-degree murder in Ricky's death and testify against Lisa Holland in exchange for the possibility of avoiding life imprisonment.

A tearful Tim Holland spoke to the court on Wednesday. “My life is over. My honor has been waylaid,” he said. He also told Judge Manderfield that he wished he could change places with his son.

Tim Holland's lawyers say they'll appeal the sentence.
