SBPD officer arrested for battery

SOUTH BEND — South Bend Police arrested one of their own this weekend for battery.

They were called to the Target on Ireland yesterday evening for a domestic disturbance. That's where a woman told them Sgt. Wayne Boocher -- a 15-year veteran of the force -- assaulted her.

Boocher was arrested for Battery and Domestic Violence. He's been placed on administrative leave for now.

The St. Joseph County prosecutor's office is in charge of the case.
