(WSBT) A former Roseland town council member was arrested Wednesday night. Police arrested deputy town clerk Dorothy Snyder at the council meeting.

She was arrested for resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

It all started with a confrontation between Snyder and council member Ted Penn after the meeting. Penn cited a resolution the town council passed banning cameras after public meetings.

Snyder was using her camera and Penn asked an officer to stop her. She refused and the officer handcuffed her and took her to his patrol car.

Town Clerk Cheryl Gridley told WSBT News that Snyder will be taken to the hospital after she's released from jail for treatment of injuries she suffered during the arrest.

Police arrested Dorothy's husband David Snyder for attacking Penn earlier this year.
