There’ll be plenty of fireworks, providing areas for launching aren’t deemed too dry. There also will be music, festivals and even baseball games all in a way to honor our nation’s independence.
Here’s a list of Fourth of July activities taking place within the area. Be sure to call or check web sites for updates on events and weather conditions for fireworks.
Indiana
Bremen
Bremen’s Firemen’s Festival continues through July 8 at Sunnyside Park; (574) 546-3660. Fireworks display 10:30 p.m. Wednesday at the park.
Goshen
Freedom Fest featuring vintage and unique aircraft, classic car show and fireworks (10:15 p.m.); gates open noon Saturday; Goshen Municipal Airport, County Road 42; $10 adults, $5 children, ages 4 & under free; www.freedomfestgoshen.com.
Granger
Fireworks display (all ground effects, no aerial shells) begins at dusk (approximately 9:30-10:30 p.m.) Saturday; Sunny Haven Recreation Park Family Nudist Resort, 11425 Anderson Road; (574) 277-5356; carpooling suggested because parking is limited, and bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating (ages 18 and younger must be accompanied by an adult).
Lakeville

LaPorte

Michigan City

Plymouth

An old-fashioned celebration at Studebaker National Museum and the Northern Indiana Center for History from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday July 4. Visitors receive $2 off museum admission and are invited to bring picnic lunches to enjoy on the grounds.
