Dorothy Snyder Will Not Face Charges

By Beth Boehne

(WSBT) A former Roseland town council member will not face charges for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Police arrested Deputy Town Clerk Dorothy Snyder at an April council meeting.

She and council member Ted Penn got into an argument over a resolution the town council passed banning cameras after public meetings.

Snyder was using her camera and Penn asked an officer to stop her.

She refused and the officer handcuffed her and took her to his patrol car.

The Prosecutor's Office said the officers did have a right to arrest Snyder, but her actions didn't warrant charges.
