Independent Living Villas for People Age 55 and Older
Hamilton Grove in New Carlisle offers independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing services to seniors in both St. Joseph and LaPorte Counties in Indiana.The “Villas at the Grove” are beautiful, independent living Villas that provide a carefree lifestyle for people who no longer want to maintain a house and yard. There are two and three bedroom styles available. Housekeeping services twice per month are also provided.
Once you move in, should you ever need assisted living services or nursing home care, you receive priority access to these services. Hamilton Grove is a continuing care living community. This means that there are three levels of care located on one campus.
You or your spouse may never need additional services, but it is nice to have the peace of mind they are readily available.

- Isn’t Hamilton Grove a nursing home?
- That is partially true. Hamilton Grove is a continuing care living community. This means that there are three levels of living on campus. Independent living villas, assisted living apartments and traditional nursing care.
- How old do I have to be to move to Hamilton Grove’s independent living villas?
- Anyone age 55 or older can move to Hamilton Grove’s independent living villas.
- If I move on campus, can I still drive?
- Of course. When you move to a Villa it is just like living in your own home. You can come and go as you please. The only difference is that everything is taken care of for you – so you have more time on your hands to do the things you want.
- I’ve heard that retirement communities want to take all my assets. Is that true?
- No. Hamilton Grove does not take your assets. You pay an entry fee to live in the Villas at the Grove. When you terminate the life-lease; 80% of the entry fee is refunded to you or your estate.
- What if something breaks, mal-functions or goes wrong while I live there and I need help?
- Hamilton Grove takes care of all maintenance and repairs, inside and out; in addition to yard work, snow shoveling and landscaping.
