Kirk Mason

By (BI) Jay LaPlante

The most oft-asked question Kirk gets is what time do you wake up? The answer is 2:30am. Kirk never considered himself a morning person, but says he's never had this much fun being at work before. He wakes up at 2:30 to get ready for WSBT News First Thing in the Morning which starts each morning at 5:00am. He also anchors WSBT News Midday.

In addition to anchoring the news in the morning, Kirk reports for WSBT News. He's reported on many of Michiana's biggest stories. He went to Chicago and Indianapolis to cover late Governor Frank O'Bannon's death. He went to Bloomington when Indiana University basketball coach Bobby Knight was fired. And he went to the White House when the Notre Dame women's basketball team was honored for winning the national championship.

Before joining WSBT in April 2000, Kirk worked for WJFW-TV in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, and for KSPR-TV in Springfield, Missouri. He graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Journalism.
