John joined the WSBT News team in July 2008. Most recently, John was a reporter for CBS/Fox affiliate WKBN-WYFX-TV in Youngstown, Ohio.

During his time in Youngstown, John covered a variety of stories which gained national attention, including a quadruple homicide, Republican presidential hopeful Rudy Guiliani's campaign visit and the General Motors strike at the Lordstown, Ohio, plant.

John graduated from Kent State University in Ohio in 2005 with a degree in broadcast journalism. While enrolled at Kent State, he reported for Cleveland PBS affiliate WVIZ-TV. John worked with WEAO/WNEO-TV on the weekly civics news show, NewsOhio, produced in conjunction with the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. He also worked behind the scenes for Cleveland CBS affiliate WOIO-TV as an assignment editor.

 

Outside of work, John is a huge roller coaster fanatic. He has traveled all over North America to ride some of the most intense rides. He also enjoys wine tasting, sports, swimming and traveling.

In 2009, John was honored by the Indiana Associated Press for "Best Spot News Reporting" for his work covering a fire that destroyed Polito's Restaurant in Mishawaka.
