Tristan Henry

By Jerry Siefring

Tristan Henry joined WSBT News in July of 2006 and reports for WSBT News Saturday Morning. She grew up in Southwestern Michigan and is happy to be closer to her friends and family.

Tristan’s interest in broadcasting started in high school. The summer before she started college at Western Michigan University she worked at WCSY-FM in South Haven, operating the radio board and announcing the latest weather conditions. While in college she worked at WWMT-TV in Kalamazoo in a variety of positions from camera operator to weekend assignment editor.

After graduating with a double major in Journalism and Broadcast Cable Productions, Tristan moved to Northern Michigan to work at WWTV in Cadillac. She spent six years there working as an executive producer, reporter, and anchor. She covered a variety of stories ranging from devastating wildfires to the first international terror drill between Michigan and Canada.

“I have so many incredible memories from reporting in Cadillac, but I think what I’m best known for up there is my attempt at log-rolling on live TV,” Tristan says. “I only stayed out of the water for about 10 seconds -- not bad for a beginner!”

In her free time, Tristan likes to spend time at the gym, especially in her Salsa class. Tristan lives in Mishawaka with her husband and their cat, Cloe.
