Cargo Jet Declares Emergency, Lands Safely

An Evergreen International 747-400 cargo jet landed safely at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport shortly before 7 a.m. Wednesday, after declaring an emergency during a flight from Shanghai, China to Anchorage. Although the pilot had received an indication that the landing gear hadn't fully deployed, National Transportation Safety Board investigator Larry Lewis says the 747 landed "without incident."
