GOSHEN— Keystone RV Co. said Wednesday it has purchased the former Fleetwood Travel Trailers of Oregon facility in Pendleton, Ore. The property consists of two manufacturing plants with approximately 203,000 square feet under roof on more than 21 acres.

Keystone RV President and CEO Ron Fenech called the acquisition a “natural move” for the Indiana-based company. Keystone currently operates three production facilities in the Pendleton area producing the popular Cougar, Springdale, Hornet and Energy models.

“These additional facilities will enable us to expand the number of current Keystone brands we will build in the West,” said Fenech. “The western location improves our operating efficiencies which will better serve our West Coast dealers. We'll start with one production line in the newly acquired facility and take it one step at a time as we ramp up production.”

Bob Martin, Keystone executive vice president, says the timetable calls for the first production line at the McKennon Road facility to be in operation by spring 2010.

“We have been very aggressive in the marketplace,” said Martin. “As the RV market continues to improve we are prepared to supply our customers with the products they want, when they need them.”
